President's Letter

Hello EMAA,

It is hard to believe we are already in full swing preparing for the banquet!  I am excited for our new venue this year, the county club of Lansing. Your board of directors are hard at work ordering ribbons, counting points, preparing decorations, organizing prizes, the list goes on and on. I encourage all the members to let all these board members know how much we appreciate them.

After all the shows this year how did you feel about the new added classes this year? Were these classes something you want to see again next year?  What are some changes you would like to see next year? Please direct your suggestions to the website comment link or email me directly emaapresidentsmith@gmail.com

Do you want to show your appreciation or congratulations at the banquet?  We would love to fill our banquet program with ads, messages, and memories from the show season! As well as, It is hard to collect all your year end ribbons and prizes if you’re not at the banquet so please make sure you get your tickets on the website by October 10th, the link is at the top of the home page.

We are always looking for help on committees weather it be the banquet committee, ribbon committee, show bill committee, judge committee, dressage committee, or sponsorship committee. Please consider signing up at the banquet or reaching out through the website.

I’m counting the days to see all the members on November 1st to celebrate everyone’s accomplishments throughout this season. Thank you EMAA for another great year.

The Voice of EMAA – Kevin Tersigni Memorial Award

Nominations Now Open: The Voice of EMAA – Kevin Tersigni Memorial Award

We are honored to announce that nominations are now open for our Annual Award: The Voice of EMAA, Kevin Tersigni Memorial Award. This prestigious award celebrates the memory of Kevin Tersigni, whose spirit, dedication, and love for EMAA left a lasting impact on our community.

This award is more than recognition—it honors a rider’s sportsmanship and perseverance, whether nominated by peers or appointed by the board throughout the season. True sportsmanship is defined not by a single act, but by an ongoing attitude of fairness, ethics, respect, and fellowship. It is reflected in teamwork, selfless contribution, and the encouragement of others.

Think of the people who made a difference in your season—

An exhibitor who guided or helped you along the way

A friend or member who cheered you on during challenges

A fellow member whose positivity and laughter lifted spirits on even the hottest show days

We invite you to share their story. Your nomination will help us recognize the voices that make EMAA such a vibrant and welcoming community.

As we close out another memorable year, the Eastern Michigan Arabian Association, would like to take a moment to look back with appreciation and joy. 2025 has been filled with exciting events, heartfelt connections, and countless moments celebrating the beauty and spirit of the Arabian horse.

None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of our sponsors. Your generosity and partnership have allowed us to host shows, create opportunities for riders and owners, and continue building a strong, welcoming community. From the smallest details to the biggest highlights, your contributions have made a lasting impact.

As we look ahead, we’re excited for the plans that next year holds. With such an incredible network of sponsors and members, the future of EMAA is bright, and we can’t wait to see where the journey takes us next.

Here’s to a successful year behind us and an even more inspiring one ahead!
