President's Letter
Hello EMAA,
I hope all of our EMAA members have survived the brutal winter we had this year! If it wasn’t the frigid temps it was all the snow mother nature piled on us this year but there is hope in sight! Show season is right around the corner and it’s expo time at the Pavilion this week. The club will have a table at the expo this year to help promote our association and there will be different board members there all weekend to answer questions. There will be new show bills on hand and also a few new EMAA goodies that you will have to stop by and say hi to find out what they are!
All the 2026 show season info you need is already on the web page along with show dates. Our new for 2026 belt buckle Sponsorship is up and running thanks to our continued sponsors who have already sponsored classes for this year . We would love to get as many classes sponsored as possible to make the year end awards bigger and better than ever!
I know I have the itch to get back into the swing of things after watching the greatest horse show in the world and the weather starting to get warmer. Bring on the late nights in the barn and the long weekends at the shows! We can’t wait to see our members this weekend at MSU, if you can’t make it to the expo we will see you in May!

FROM THE DRESSAGE RING
Well, the snow is starting to melt, horse blankets are coming off, and that means show season will be here soon!
We look forward to welcoming back our returning exhibitors and new friends that will be joining us this year at EMAA.
Based on feedback and requests from our members, we are happy to share that we will be offering Western Dressage Suitability to our show bill! This will be our first rail class for dressage on Fridays prior to English Suitability, Equitation, and Sport Horse under Saddle. Please remember that each Suitability class has a 2-year max for the horse. (see EMAA Rules/Regs). We are excited that western dressage has been so well attended and growing every year.
Please invite your Open Breed friends to join us at our upcoming shows. No membership is required and EMAA is a great way to get some miles and experience in a family-friendly atmosphere!
We invite all EMAA members to give dressage a try! Links to each test can be found on our website. You can start out with Intro tests, which are walk-trot, even if you are a W/T/C exhibitor in the main ring.
You can have a reader for the tests, so no need to memorize it. 😊 What a great way to ride a pattern and receive written feedback on your ride, where each movement and collective marks are given a score and comments.
Don’t forget that you can sponsor a dressage class that adds to those year end awards and prizing! Sponsorship forms can be found on the website. We thank all of our sponsors and businesses that help make our banquet a wonderful event!
Looking forward to seeing you all soon! Please reach out if you have any questions. (emaadressage@gmail.com)
