President's Letter

Dear Members,

I’m not sure how, but somewhere between June and July I blinked and now we are counting down to the last show of our 2024 season. A always, the board of directors have been working diligently to ensure a wonderful ending to this year and some surprises as well. I’d especially like to highlight one of your Directors, Taylor DeBlair, who most of you know as the person behind our sponsorship program. Never, in the 10+ years that I have been involved with the board, have I seen someone take on a fresh task with such gusto and have it completely mastered in 2 short years of their term. Taylor has shown a dedication to fundraising and creating new opportunities for fun activities that get our members truly excited to be a part of. I am proud of her success and excited to see what wonderful things she will come up with next.

If you’re thinking about our Saturday night Youth Activity and wondering if we will once again beholding the annual costume contest…. We sure are! And this year we have a big Thank You to hand out to Steve Taylor from Crestview Tack Shop, who has graciously offered to sponsor this fun youth activity AND will be providing prizes for all three of the costume divisions: Single costume, Group costume, and PeeWee costume. Make sure to stop into the tack shop and thank him personally if you see Steve. He will also be sponsoring a delightful Main Ring surprise for the last show of the Season.

The end of a show season also leads us into our yearly grand finale, The Year-End Banquet. Taking place on November 16th at the Comstock Inn in Owosso, the theme for this year’s banquet is Met Gala, Secret Garden. The deadline to purchase your tickets is October 26th, as well as submitting your program ad. Tickets will remain at the same price as last year, $32 for adults and $15 for youth, Program ads are $20. For more information on the banquet, ticket and ad purchasing, as well as hotel accommodations, please visit the banquet page on the EMAA website.

I’m sure for many of you, this next week will consist of lots of packing, cleaning, bathing, clipping and hopefully excitement. I hope your last show of the season brings you closer towards goals set months prior. I hope you can look back on your time spent with us at EMAA and be proud of the work you and your horse have put in. And I hope you have memories that you can take with you for many show seasons to come.

Sincerely,

Kelly Beaubien, President

Photo Sessions at EMAA VI

Hello all EMAA members and those showing and attending the last show of the season!

Are you interested in having a photo mini session at the final EMAA show of the season? I have created time slots on Friday and Saturday the 6th and 7th of Sept. from 10am to 3pm. The sessions will be 20 min long. Feel free to have family members in the photos alongside you and your horse! Dogs are welcome too! Two horses are welcome! You could even bring your pet cow!

As far as location there is a nice tree line across from the outdoor arena past the campers unless we come up with other locations. The cost will be $130 per session and once edited I will share the digital files with you via my website. You will get approx 20 images to use on social media and for use to get prints if wanted from a local lab or you can order through my website! Thank you for letting me be part of your experience at EMAA!
